Our trip to Vienna lasted only four days, from the 2nd of April to the 5th.
We got to the railway station in Wels, our train to Vienna arrived at 8:16, we quickly got on, found our seats and after about two hours, we finally arrived in Vienna. We stayed at a hotel called “A&O Hostel”, it was only a few minutes away from the railway station. We left our suitcases there and then we set off into the city.
Our first stop was at Stephan’s square, we got there using the subway – it was pretty complicated at first, as none of us has ever been on a subway before. We had our first lunch break there, there were a lot of restaurants there, and also many different clothing shops. We then walked to a market where they sold all kinds of sweets and spices. Our next stop was the House of Sea, or “Haus des Meeres” in German. We saw many different animals there, from all kinds of fishes to monkeys, snakes, birds and even a crocodile! After that, we went back to the hotel and got to our rooms – they were pretty great, a lot bigger than the ones we had in the past. Not long after we got to our rooms, we went down to eat dinner – we had some kind of noodle with sauce, but at least we had the chance to choose from many different sides. We ended the day by going to the cinema and watching a movie called “Chantal im Märchenland“, it was a nice movie.
On Wednesday, we had breakfast at 7:00, and we set off to our next destination at 8:00, we got a bus tour around the city – our tour guide was awesome! We saw some of Vienna’s tallest buildings. We had a long lunch break, we were required to meet near the Stephans Dom. Our next stop was a place called “Time Travel”, we got to see Vienna’s past, it was so cool! We walked to the next subway stop and went back to the hotel. In the evening, we took the subway to Prater – a theme park. There were so many different rides, some of us ended up losing our voices due to screaming so much. We just wished we could’ve spent more time there.
Thursday was pretty fun too! Our first stop was at a place called “Dialog in the Dark”, we got one of those sticks that blind people use then we were led into a pitch-black room – we couldn’t see a thing. We had to use our senses of touch and hearing to get around. In the afternoon, we made our way over to Schloss Schönbrunn, also paying the zoo a visit. The evening was fun too. We went to the theatre and watched a musical, “Das Falco Musikal”. It was so well done – the actors were amazing.
Friday wasn’t that bad either, we went to different places in the morning and in the afternoon, we got our suitcases then walked back to the railway station, and we got on our train. It was an amazing school trip – one we wouldn’t forget.
